Last minute doesn't have to mean you have to resort to expensive flowers and chocolates. If you never give your Valentine flowers through the year (shame on you) then flowers would be lovely. But what she really wants is for you to show her that she is the most important person in your life. How do you do this, is that your question?
Take a minute to sit down and think about all the little things that make her special. Do you smile when she always turns the music up loud when her favorite song is on the radio? Do you love the enthusiasm she has for her favorite football team? Do you love the way she stops at the pet shop and talks to the puppies and kittens in the window? What are the small everyday things she does that makes your heart smile?

When you have picked out a few loveable things she does, tailor your gift to those things. Give her a toy puppy or cat if she loves puppies and kittens. Give her a team flag or something with the emblem of her favorite team on it. Record some of her favorite songs onto a CD or MP3 player. If you can't get to her's record it on yours and play them for her on Valentines Day. These are the things that say " I know what is important to you because you are important to me".
Now that's what every woman wants to hear no matter how old she is. It's the acknowledgment that you notice the things that matter to her. It's not so much the presents, it's the acknowledgment. Do something for her that she hates to do. Does she hate doing the ironing? Ask a friend to do it for you if you can't do it yourself and explain that it is part of your Valentines Day gift to your loved one. The friend will willingly help out and not only that, will think you the most romantic guy ever.
It's what you say as much as what you do, so write out your feelings for your Valentine. If you're really late and they may have run out of Valentines Day cards don't worry, buy one with an image you think she will like that has no writing inside. Now go for it. Write out all the reasons why you feel the way you do about this person. No matter how funny or silly they sound to you, my guess is that it will sound wonderful to your Valentine. If you're up for it sign your name and add a big red heart and add lots of kisses all over it.
These sorts of expressions of emotion are what melts a woman's heart. Valentine's Day is all about expressing love and affection and that can be as individual as there are people on the planet. Step out of your comfort zone and see how ell you will be rewarded. Tell her you love her as well as show her you love her and you will both have a magical Valentine's Day.
